LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- There is new developments in the search for that new head coach at the University of Texas. Two top names have withdrawn from the running and neither of them is UofL’s Charlie Strong, whose name is still alive.

The only thing up in the air is, are there more candidates like Florida State's Jimbo Disher.

The two names that were hot in the last 24 hours were Baylor's Art Briles and UCLA's Jim Mora. Both said they weren't interested in the job within an hour and a half of each other on Friday morning, Jan. 3.

Dominique Dishman a UofL walk-on defensive tackle took to Twitter on Friday and blamed a portion of the fan base for the possibility of Strong leaving.

Charlie will be working with ESPN on Monday, Jan. 6, as part of their national championship game coverage. If nothing happens until then it may be the first time he breaks his silence.
