WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Purdue cornerback Sean Collins has been suspended from the team after he was arrested early Saturday outside a West Lafayette bar.
WLFI-TV and the Journal and Courier report police arrested the 21-year-old Collins early Saturday outside the Where Else? bar. Collins faces preliminary charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery.
The victim, 22-year-old Holly Fullerton of Monticello, was released after being treated at a hospital.
Fullerton tells WLFI she was trying to prevent a fight when she was struck and fell to the ground.
Collins bonded out of the Tippecanoe County Jail after his arrest. It wasn't clear if he has an attorney.
Purdue Associate Athletics Director Tom Schott says Collins is suspended from the team.
Collins walked on the Purdue football team in 2009 and was on the roster in 2010 and 2011.
