(USA Today) -- The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that team owner Jim Irsay checked himself into a rehabilitation facility after being arrested Monday on suspicion of intoxicated driving. He faces four felony counts for possession of a controlled substance.

“Yesterday, Jim Irsay took the first step toward regaining good health,” according to a Colts’ statement. “He voluntarily checked into a highly-respected health care facility and is committed to undergoing the treatment and care necessary to help him meet his challenges head-on. Jim, the Irsay family, and the Colts organization are all deeply appreciative of the incredible outpouring of support and compassion from our fans and the Indiana community.”

Irsay was stopped Sunday night in Carmel, Ind., and arrested after driving at a slow rate of speed, stopping in the middle of the road and failing to signal a turn. After he failed several field-sobriety tests, a search of Irsay’s vehicle uncovered multiple prescription drugs in pill bottles, according to police.

After his release from jail, Irsay took a moment to tweet thanks to those who supported him throughout the ordeal.

Irsay’s court appearance will be held next week.

“According to the bond agreement, Mr. Irsay’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 1:15 pm in the Magistrate Court located at the Hamilton County Courthouse,” Deputy Bryant Orem of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
