LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The first contender for the Kentucky Derby 137 arrived at Churchill Downs Monday, 40 days before the big races. Decisive Moment was the runner up in Saturday’s Grade III race at Turfway Park in Kentucky. His trainer, Juan Arias, will arrive at Churchill this week. Decisive Moment joined 250 other horses housed at Churchill, although they will not be making the run for the roses. Many more horses and their staff will be arriving at Churchill over the next month leading up to the Kentucky Derby starting May 6.
