(WHAS11) -- ‘Mark Valeski’ is a 3-year old trained by Larry Jones and is owned by former Kentucky Governor Brereton Jones.

He’s currently on the fence whether he’s going to race in the Kentucky Derby but as of right now all signs point to him running on the first Saturday of May. He didn’t win any of the major prep races leading up to the Derby but has enough graded earnings to get in.
He’s named after a pool maintenance worker from a Florida hotel in which the Governor’s family frequents. He knows horses, and became a family friend.
