(WHAS11) -- The youngest jockey ever to win the Kentucky Derby is getting honored permanently. Well known African American, jockey Lonnie Clayton won the Derby back in 1892 aboard Azra.
On Friday a historical marker was placed at Bashford Manor in his honor.
It's a place many here in Louisville remember only as a shopping center but Bashford Manor was formally known as Bashford Manor Farm.
That's where three Kentucky Derby winners were produced including Azra.
