LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - Louisville first hosted The Breeders Cup in 1988, but back in the 80’s, it was still just a dream.
WHAS11 broadcasted a 30 minute special at the end of the 80's decade looking at the dramatic changes that were starting at the track under a brand new CEO - Tom Meeker.
And watch closely, in our show from back then - hosted by Paul Rogers - you'll see a racing fan you might recognize: Jack Conway.
Conway's family has a long history with horse racing and the attorney general is well known for being able to name every Derby winner by memory.
