LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A trophy awarded for 1947 Kentucky Derby winner Jet Pilot's victory has failed to sell at an auction.
The golden trophy was awarded to Elizabeth Arden's Maine Chance Farm for Jet Pilot's Derby win. It has been passed down through Arden's family.
But The Louisville Courier-Journal reports the trophy was up for auction on Sunday through the Skinner auction house in Boston. The newspaper reported that bids on the trophy did not exceed an undisclosed reserve.
The trophy was valued in a catalog between $60,000 to $80,000 and was to be sold with a gold julep cup.
