(WHAS11) -Let the buzz begin. A source tells WHAS11 none other than the "King of Pop" -- Michael Jackson -- will be here this year.

He'll join an already impressive list of music stars, actors, and athletes. It's the time of year when Louisville feels like LA.

It's the show you have to see. Never mind the Derby, we're talking the A-list crowd the big race brings to town.

LeAnn Rimes will make a return appearance along with Food Network chef Bobby Flay.

The question is-- where do these big names stay? Gabe Isaac of 21c Hotel showed us a VIP room on the penthouse floor with views of downtown and the Ohio River.

The corner suite has been reserved for celebs in the past and, this year, is reserved for a, "very, very special person. You have to have an 'in' of some sort to get this room for Derby weekend," Isaac tells us.

2009 Derby performers Blake Shelton and Gavin DeGraw could be candidates for the room along with hip-hop stars David Banner and Rick Ross. All of them are scheduled to perform this year.

Hosea Mitchell organizes this Saturday's charity fundraiser in West Louisville called "The Slice."

"In addition to good food, good music- we do want to try to give them a little bit of that Hollywood effect," Mitchell says. He helped bring David Banner and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Deion Branch to town.

You know what else? Rumor has it "the King of Pop" himself will soon beat it to the 'Ville for the Derby.

The 21c Hotel says they had no idea. "Oh my gosh. I have not heard this! That would be awesome if he would stay with us."

No doubt Michael Jackson will steal the spotlight wherever he might stay and provide quite a "Thriller night."

Along with Jackson, WHAS11 is told American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino will perform Derby night.

Socialite Paris Hilton and her boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt, will be attending the Barnstable-Brown Derby Eve Gala. The party gets started at 8:00 Friday night.

After the Barnstable-Brown Gala, Hilton and Reinhardt will host the official Barnstable-Brown after party at the Sports and Social Club at Fourth Street Live.

Oscar winner Adrien Brody is set to attend Laura Lee Brown's Derby party.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian will host the 2nd Annual Derby Spectacular on Friday, May 1st at Glassworks.

NFL player Amobi Okoye and pro golfer Kenny Perry will make appearances, and by the end of the week more events will announce their celebrity guests so the A-List will continue to grow.
