LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Are you feeling a little lucky this Derby season? Well one shot can land you a million bucks!
The Stock Yards Bank Kentucky Derby Festival Hole-In-One contest got underway Thursday morning at the Seneca Golf Course.
From now until April 28 you can pay $1 per ball to qualify for the semifinals or get five balls free when you buy a Pegasus Pin at the course.
"You swing, we take measurements. If you hit a hole-in-one today, you automatically qualify for the championship. We list them, rank them and the top 10 each day qualify for the semi-final round,” Bob Hecht, with Stock Yards Bank & Trust, said.
The semifinals are Sunday, April 28 with the finals on Tuesday, April 30. There has been no million dollar winner in the event's 23-year history. The closest shot was in 2012 when Josh Garr of Louisville hit his shot within four feet, four and a half inches.
If there's no hole-in-one at the finals--the person who's closest will get $5,000.
