LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Horses on the track were sent back to barns, the infield was evacuated and all races were postponed as severe weather made its way through Kentuckiana.

Race fans scrambled for cover as the rain pelted down - pulling out ponchos and using plastic bags to help protect themselves from the rain.

After about 30 minutes, the clouds gave way and racing at Churchill Downs resumed.

The post time for the running of the 138th Kentucky Oaks was rescheduled to 6:20 p.m.
