Online Derby ticket sale sells out in 48 minutes

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - The second time is a success! Wednesday, Churchill Downs gave race fans a chance to purchase tickets online for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks races. 

3,000 two day packages were available.  Prices varied depending on the location of the seat at the track.

Last month they attempted to do the sale but had to cancel plans due to data errors.  This time the ticket sale was a success selling out in less than an hour. 

Track officials say the online sale gave everyone a fair chance at reserved seats for Derby and Oaks races.
