LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Coming off a NCAA championship will, University of Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino is hoping for another win – this time on the race track on Derby day.

WHAS11 caught up with Pitino Wednesday morning on the Backside at Churchill Downs while he was visiting the Derby horse which he holds a 5 percent stake – Goldencents

Coach said he's looking forward to watching Goldencents race Saturday.

"I think it's great. Recruiting is over now so there's not a whole lot for us to do for at least three weeks. That's gone well, basketball's gone well, now it's time for horse racing," Pitino said.

Former Cards basketball star Gorgui Dieng was with Pitino on the Backside and joked the he would be riding Goldencents in the race.

If Goldencents wins on Saturday, jockey Kevin Krigger could make history as the first African American jockey to win the Derby since 1902.

Don't expect another tattoo if his horse does win, he said that's for basketball only.
