A group that owns a share of one-time Kentucky Derby favorite I Want Revenge has sued the colt’s other owner, claiming he didn’t disclose an injury that caused the horse to scratch the morning of the race.

IEAH Stables filed the lawsuit in Fayette Circuit Court against David Lanzman, who sold IEAH a 50 percent share of the horse in March.

IEAH’s attorney Andre Regard said in an interview Thursday that Lanzman knew about a right ankle problem with the horse before the sale went through.

A call Thursday to Lanzman’s attorney Michael Meuser was not immediately returned.

The horse scratched after inflammation was detected in the ankle.

Lanzman sued IEAH last month over other issues stemming from the horse sale.
