LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- WHAS11’s Kelsey Starks and Andy Treinen had the chance to meet some outstanding young artists Tuesday night the “Horsing Around with Art” event at the Kentucky Derby Museum.

The Good Morning Kentuckiana duo hosted the annual event where Kentuckiana students from elementary through high school submit Derby-themed artwork to showcase their talents. Not to mention the chance to win some great prizes ranging from art supplies all the way up the grand prize – six tickets to this year’s Kentucky Derby.

More than 300 students, parents and teachers were on hand.

The grand prize winner was fifth grader Cortez Vinson. He was surprised late last month during a special assembly at his school Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary.
