LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Visitors to the Kentucky Derby Museum got to take home a piece of Derby history Monday.

California Chrome assistant trainer Alan Sherman, son of trainer Art Sherman, was at the museum handing out individual roses from the Derby winner's Garland of Roses.

One woman from New Mexico said coming to see the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby was on her bucket list. She also said she picked California Chrome to win it all.

"I did not see them put the roses over the horse so I didn't get a picture, so, I was wondering if they had they roses somewhere. So, seeing this and getting a rose and taking it home, everyone's going to be envious back home," Linda Moreno said.
