LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Six months ago, an investment team said they hoped to have crumbling buildings along Louisville’s Whiskey Row stabilized by June, but there is still no sign of any progress.

He's a horse that was born to run long but also born for the camera.

Union Rags is picture perfect. As a three-year-old, he has emerged as professional, unflappable, even before adoring fans. Those fans will likely make him one of the top choices to win the Derby and trainer Michael Matz had a night to ponder his number four post position.

Jockey Julien Leparoux will do the rest and he's been determined to atone for a third place finish in the Florida Derby. Leparoux said this track is a good place to bounce back .

Matz kept his same training plan after the Florida race and said he sees a different outcome Saturday. Matz said in Florida, Union Rags was the target of all the jockeys. This time Leparoux will have some advantages.

With his big white face and powerful body, Union Rags has turned heads all week at Churchill Downs.
He's one of those contenders who is good enough to win, and just needs the trip and the luck.

Union Rags will be the 9 to 2 second choice when Derby betting opens on Friday morning.
And Union Rags was the 9 to 2 favorite in the Derby futures pool which closed on April 1. And, he's going to continue to catch the attention of the bettors because he really does "look the part of a winner."
