LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The UofL football team hit the practice field for the first time and they were joined by a familiar face.

Assistant Coach Clint Hurtt was back working with the defensive line for the first time since being placed on administrative leave.

This obviously came as a surprise since Monday, Aug. 5, Charlie Strong told us nothing had changed with Hurtt's status.

But when practice started there was Hurtt, coaching as hard as he ever has.

They were originally going to wait until after the Miami investigation wrapped up and Charlie Strong was going to coach the defensive line himself, but that clearly changed in the last 24 hours.

When the Miami decision comes down he'll still sit down with Charlie Strong and Tom Jurich and move forward from there.
