LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- University of Louisville Cardinal fans who could not make the trip to the Sugar Bowl have their chance to greet the team on UofL's campus Thursday afternoon.

About 20 players are scheduled to land at a private airport by Louisville International Airport by 3:00 Thursday afternoon.

Fans are scheduled to have an informal homecoming at 3:30.
The Cards captured a sweet Sugar Bowl victory in a shocking upset over Florida. Fans are now saying "later Gators."

The 15-point underdog Cards scored 10 more than the number three ranked team with a final score of 33 to 23.
"I was very impressed. They did a good, no great job," one fan said.
"It's what we say when we e-mail, text, twitter. Be strong, live strong like Charlie Strong. Go Cards!" another fan said.
According to the UofL Sports Facebook page fans who want to greet the team should gather in between the Schnellenberger Football Complex and Trager Center by 3:30.

The team has not planned an official meet-and-greet gathering but will wave to their fans when they arrive on campus.
