LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky coach Rich Brooks hopes to have running back Derrick Locke and receiver Randall Cobb back for a crucial game at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Locke sat out with a knee injury and Cobb was out with a thumb injury during Kentucky’s 37-12 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Both will be back at practice this week.

Brooks said Sunday that Vanderbilt (2-8, 0-6 Southeastern Conference) is better than its record shows.

He says the Commodores’ defense in particular will likely give Kentucky (5-4, 1-4) a number of problems. A win at Vanderbilt would make the Wildcats bowl-eligible for a fourth consecutive year.

In another boost to the offense, Kentucky may welcome back quarterback Mike Hartline against Vanderbilt.

Hartline has been injured for four weeks, ceding his starting spot to a triple threat offense that has included Cobb running a spread offense, true freshman Morgan Newton and backup Will Fidler.
