LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky coach Rich Brooks says quarterback Mike Hartline will return to the practice field this week for limited activity.
Hartline suffered a shoulder injury three weeks ago, leaving a void in the position.
Brooks says Hartline wouldnt be considered as a viable option as quarterback in the near future. Hartline's return is based on his ability to recover.
In Hartline's absence Kentucky has rotated between backup Will Fidler, true freshman Morgan Newton and receiver Randall Cobb running a spread offense.
Still, Brooks blamed UK's loss to Mississippi state this weekend not on quarterback play, but a lack of focus from his entire team, specifically the defense.
Kentucky plays Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
