LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- UofL fans showed up in droves for a chance to meet the Cardinals on Sunday.
Hundreds of fans lined up for Cardinal Fan Day at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Sunday in order to meet the team, take pictures and get autographs.

Right when fans walked through the gates, they received free posters and photo strips. Others brought their own special memorabilia to have signed.
The season opener will put the Cards up against the Kentucky Wildcats at Papa John's Cardinal stadium on September 2. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
