LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky basketball fans will get a glimpse of the Wildcats' past and present in one October weekend.
The Bluegrass Sports Commission on Wednesday announced that the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards will play a preseason game at Rupp Arena on Oct. 19. Former Wildcats Anthony Davis and Darius Miller, who helped Kentucky win the 2012 NCAA championship, will play for the Pelicans. The Wizards feature Kentucky product John Wall.
The game comes a day after Big Blue Madness, a huge event marking the opening of the college season for Kentucky's men's and women's programs.
BSC executive director Terry Johnson said in a release that the big weekend will "be a terrific addition to our sports calendar."
Tickets ranging from $10 to $250 go on sale Friday morning.
