LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kenny Klein, Senior Associate AD/SID of Men's Basketball for the University of Louisville tweeted Thursday, "Louisville F Chane Behanan has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of university policy; will not be with the team during suspension."

In a press release, Klein announced Behanan will not practice or be involved in any team-related activities during the suspension.

Louisville head coach, Rick Pitino said in a statement to the media that Chane's return is possible but not probable and if he does get back to the team, it will be a long time from now.

The earliest Behanan can come back is December, but Pitino said he doubts that is even possible.

You may remember, Behanan was benched for last season's exhibition opener against Pikeville and was banned from speaking to the media for the semester.

WHAS11 will continue to keep you informed of this situation and we will have more on our 4 p.m. newscast.
