Miami, Fla. (WHAS11)- April 5, Thursday, was opening day for Major League Baseball, but the first game of the season started with a very special guest.
Muhammad Ali was on hand for the first pitch at Wednesday night's game between the defending champion Saint Louis Cardinals, and the Miami Marlins.
Ali, who won his first heavyweight title in Miami, was greeted with cheers from the sold out crowd.
Because of his Parkinson’s, Ali could not throw the pitch himself, so he handed the ball to Miami third baseman Hanley Ramirez.
