Trinity player takes aim at USA Baseball squad

(WHAS11)-Travis McCormick is getting a chance of a lifetime.

The Trinity High School senior is headed to Raleigh, North Carolina to try out for the USA Baseball 17 and under team.

McCormick is one of only two players from Kentucky that was among the 60 players selected for the tryout.

Travis had kept his selection a secret from everyone except his family and girlfriend, so he wouldn't jinx himself before the tryout.

The USA National Training Complex will host opening ceremonies on Friday and players will be selected to make up the squad on Sunday.
