WHAS11 special: Pitino - Hall of Fame Career

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- University of Louisville basketball Coach Rick Pitino will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame Sunday. Pitino is one of seven new members that will be inducted this weekend.

He's won two national championships and 664 games over his 28 years of coaching. Coach P talked with the media Monday and said he has not written his speech yet or even had time to reflect on his career because he hard at work preparing to win another championship this year.

“Sometimes you think in the Hall of Fame that time is catching up with you. I never really wanted to think about it because I would think my career was starting to close, so, I didn't really want to think that way,” Pitino said.

This Friday, WHAS11’s Rachel Platt and Adam Lefkoe will host a special, looking back on Pitino's coaching career. The special airs Friday at 5:30 on WHAS11.
