LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- They came, they saw, they destroyed. The Cards dismantled an undermanned FIU team 72-0 on Saturday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

The UofL offense took care of business early and often putting up 28 points in the 2nd Quarter. The true highlight had to be Devante Parker's first touchdown of the day. A play which had to be reviewed but showed Parker got one foot down into the endzone. The Ballard product has now caught a touchdown pass in 10 straight games. He's a freak of nature.

The most impressive player to me on the day was backup quarterback Will Gardner who came in relief of Teddy Bridgewater and was 5 for 5 with a touchdown toss. Let's face it Teddy is headed to the NFL after this season and Gardner is a glimpse into the future. UofL Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson loves Gardner and in a few short snapshots, we're all seeing why.

More importantly the Cards quickly dispatched of a team they were supposed to beat handily. Something they'll have to continue to do if they want have a chance to play for the national championship at the end of the year.
