ORLANDO, Fla. (WHAS11)-- The University of Kentucky Cheerleaders went down to nationals seeking their 20th championship, and that's just what they got.
On Sunday night, after all competition ended, the teams were on stage for awards and the 'Cats squad took home the national championship to Lexington.
University of Central Florida took second place, while powerhouse Alabama placed third.
Kentucky last won a UCA National Championship back in 2012, but were beat out last year for another repeat by Alabama.
The 'Cats are the only squad to win back-to-back titles, and the only squad to ever win eight in a row.
The competiton will air on ESPN later in the year.
