LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- For the first time in 33 years Louisville Slugger has introduced a new logo.
The logo was was unveiled on the huge bat in front of the Slugger Museum Monday morning.
“We chose to update the logo now to reflect the reality that our company, products and culture are evolving with the times,” John Hillerich, fifth-generation CEO of Hillerich & Bradsby Co., said. “We have exciting new products, dynamic relationships with the best players in the game and stronger business partnerships than ever.”
This is only the second significant change of the logo since Louisville Slugger made its first bat in 1884. The new logo introduces a secondary mark within the logo. The rollout started Sunday night with MLB’s opening night game between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros.
Along with the new logo, Louisville Slugger is launching a new campaign. The “Leave Your Mark” initiative is about sharing the lifelong imprints others have made on your life.
