U. S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams has named Louisville associate head coach Mario Sanchez was named an assistant for the July camp. The 40-player roster was assembled for a week-long training camp July 22-29 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
The week-long camp in California is the first time the Williams has called players together since the Copa Saprissa Internacional tournament ended on July 1.
The training camp roster features 20 players that were part of the 2012 spring semester at the U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla., as well as a total of 28 players who have either been a part of the Residency Program or have previously been called into Under-17 Men’s National Team camp.
The roster is comprised of players that were born in 1996 or 1997, with the exception of goalkeeper Abraham Romero, the only player on the roster born in 1998.
