(WHAS11) -- Former Wildcat Anthony Davis' dream of playing in the Summer Olympics may have come to an end.  An ESPN report says a severe ankle injury could prevent him from making the team.

Team USA's training camp begins later in the week in Las Vegas and they have to pick the team quickly.

Apparently Davis suffered the ankle injury during a workout Sunday with his new NBA team the New Orleans Hornets.

The injury could keep him out for up to two weeks.
