LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Sunday evening the sixteen regional hosts for the NCAA baseball tournament were announced. The Louisville Cardinals were among those sixteen chosen.
Three teams join the fifth ranked Cardinals in the Louisville regional. Kansas and Kent State will be playing at Jim Patterson Stadium this weekend along with UofL rival, Kentucky Wildcats.
The Wildcats (35-23) are the number 2 seed in the regional and will face Kansas in game one. The match up Kentuckians are hoping for would occur if the Cardinals and the Wildcats both either lose or win their respective game one. The rivals have played twice already this season and Kentucky was the victor in both.
Louisville is the one seed in the regional and will face Kent State on Friday May, 30 at 6pm. Tickets for the entire regional are on sale now and single session tickets go on sale starting Friday at 9 a.m.
