(WHAS11) – The family of legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno are fighting back against a report they call a “rush to injustice.”

They are releasing a report as part of a campaign to clear Paterno’s name.

Fort the first time since the Penn State sex abuse scandal broke, Paterno’s widow Sue spoke out on Katie Couric’s show.

It comes after the University commissioned an investigation led by former FBI chief Louis Freeh.

The report claims Paterno knew what was going on but cared more about his football team than reporting the abuse to the police.

Sue Paterno said she got physically ill and was in shock and horror on hearing the allegations of Jerry Sandusky molesting children.
