(WHAS11) -- NFL stadiums are seeing a decline in attendance and are looking for new ways to fill the seats.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the league is planning to introduce free wi-fi in every stadium and create new smartphone apps that would allow fans to listen to players wearing microphones on the field.
The NFL is concerned that its "couch potato" options both on television and mobile devices have become good enough that many fans don't see the point of attending an actual game.
