LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – More than $200,000 will go straight to help fund research for pediatric cancer and the Kentucky fan base is to thank!
Pieces of the 2012 NCAA Championship floor were auctioned off last week online.
Three-hundred bidders pledged over $201,000 for those pieces of the floor.
The money will be split between Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville and Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington.
"It will help research against pediatric cancer...more therapies for pediatric cancer," Dr. Lars Wagner, UK Pediatric Oncology, said.
Northwestern Mutual presented the check to Kosair and Kentucky Children's Hospital today.
Part of the championship floor was also installed in the locker room at UK.
