BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Marion County's Makayla Epps scored 28 points in leading the Lady Knights to a 72-49 win over Anderson County in the semifinals of the KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 at Diddle Arena.
Region 5 champion Marion County (38-0) advances to Saturday's state title game, where the team will face the winner of DuPont Manual and Notre Dame. Tipoff is 8 p.m. CT.
Epps, a Kentucky signee and the Gatorade Kentucky Girls Basketball Player of the Year, added seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. Logan Powell added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Knights. Kentucky signee Kyvin Goodin-Rogers was held to seven points on 2-of-11 shooting.
Marion County shot 51 percent from the field while holding Anderson County to 33.9 percent shooting.
Makenzie Cann led the Region 8 champion Lady Bearcats (34-2) with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
