LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- All week Louisvillians have heard about the PGA Championship and finally on Thursday the tournament will begin.

"This tournaments been hyped for having all the big named golfers you can think of here so seeing that in Louisville is a pretty cool experience.,"  Sebastian Jenkins-Neary said.
Thousands have come to Valhalla just to see these major players practice.
"I've only seen them before on Tiger Woods the game so this is really cool to see everybody," said Graces Lee.
One man, perhaps someone with their own video game, seemed to draw the most attention.
"I don't want to play favorites for Tiger, but any time he's here it's - everyone's more excited," Lee said.
Tiger Woods' mere appearance made national headlines and built up the excitement for Thursday.
Fans cannot wait to watch him compete with PGA greats to win the 1.8 million dollars expected to go to the winner, and for the last chance any of them will have to win one of the four major championships in 2014.
"We saw some short-range chipping, some putting.  He was really close to us,” Lee said. “It wasn't a big crowd so it was really cool."
Not all the fans that came to the practice will be there for the tournament itself, but they are ready for some golf, and ready to show off Louisville.
"Something like this - when you have big names in Louisville - it's really cool to see,” Jenkins-Neary said.
