PROVIDENCE, R.I. (News Release) -- Sophomore midfielder Erin Yenney of the 14th-ranked Louisville women’s soccer team was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following her performances last weekend.
Yenney (Troy, Ohio/Troy HS) totaled five points, including two game-winning goals in a 2-0-0 week for the unbeaten Cardinals. She scored the first goal in a 4-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State last Friday before connecting for a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over UNC-Greensboro on Sunday. Yenney was named to the All-Tournament team at the UK Tropical Smoothie Invitational after helping lead the Cardinals to the tournament title.
Along with Yenney’s recognition, senior goalkeeper Chloe Kiefer (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Divine Saviour HS) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday. Kiefer posted a pair of shutouts last weekend to increase her season total to three and her career total to 13. She needed just four saves in the two games to clinch the shutout wins and earn All-Tournament honors at the UK Invitational.
