Louisville Field Hockey Welcomes Eight Players to 2010 Team

University of Louisville field hockey coach Pam Bustin has announced that eight new players have committed to the Cardinal field hockey team.  Dominique Pesqualichio, Nikki Barry, Katie Flannery, Kelsey Rosenmeier, Elizabeth Vance, Michelle Amon, Jacque Gerrick and Erin Schneidtmiller will compete for Team Cardinal in the 2010 season.

The Cardinals finished the 2009 season with a 12-8 overall record, ranking No. 16 in the final NFHCA coach’s poll. 

"We are so excited to officially call each member of this incoming class a Louisville Cardinal!” said head coach Pam Bustin. “Not only will this group have an immediate impact on the success of this team, but will drive us into the future. The energy and pride already displayed by this group is impressive. If they could come to campus tomorrow to train, play and study - they would. The level of talent, athleticism and determination to become champions is high and I expect that they will produce at the next level. I can't wait to work with them!"

Dominique Pasqualichio
Plymouth, Pa. (Wyoming Valley HS)
Dominique Pasqualichio, a midfielder/back from Wyoming Valley High School in Plymouth, Pa., was a four year junior Olympic participant. She played for the 2008 U16 USA national traveling team where she competed in the Netherlands and won the team sportsmanship award.  Pasqualichio was a three-time NFHCA All-State first team member and was selected to the Harrow Sports/NFHCA All Regional Mideast Division team in 2009. 

Nikki Barry
Palmyra, Pa. (Palmyra HS)
Nikki Barry is a back from Palmyra High School in Palmyra where she was a three-time Mid Penn All-Star (2007-09), a two year tri-captain (2008-09). Barry earned first team All-State honors as in 2008 and 2009 and was chosen to be part of the 2009 Patriot News Big 11 Team.  In 2007, she helped her team to the PIAA District III championship and state runner-up finish and was also selected as an All-State second team member.  Nikki is also part of the All-State Academic Squad.

Katie Flannery
Reading, Pa. (Oley Valley HS)
Katie Flannery, a back, joins the Cardinals from Oley Valley High School in Reading Pa., where she helped her team to four Pennsylvania District III tournaments, the 2008 District Championship and one state qualifier. The two-time All-State second team selection (2007 and 2009) participated in the Keystone State games from 2005-09 and won Gold Medals in 2008 and 2009.  She was a National Futures Championship participant from 2006-2008 and helped lead her team to a Junior Olympics Gold Medal in 2007. Additionally, Flannery participated in the National Indoor Tournament from 2006-2010 and won the 2008 Gold Medal.

Kelsey Rosenmeier
Virginia Beach, Va. (Frank W. Cox HS)
Kelsey Rosenmeier, a midfielder/forward, joins the Cardinals from Virginia Beach, Va., where she played for four-time Virginia State champion  Frank W. Cox High School. The two-time team captain led her team with 29 assists as a senior. Rosenmeier was a two-time first team All-Beach District, All-Eastern Region and All-State selection (2008-09). She earned first team All-Tidewater honors in 2009 after being selected to the second team in 2008. Rosenmeier was a two-time gold medalist at the Junior Olympics in 2007 and 2008 and a gold medalist at the National Hockey Festival in 2007. She was a four-time National Futures Championship bronze medalist and participated in the National Indoor Tournament from 2006-09.

Elizabeth Vance
Fort Worth, Texas (Fort Worth Country Day School) Elizabeth Vance comes to the Cardinals from Ft. Worth, Texas where she was a four year starter and 2009 captain at Ft. Worth Country Day School.  In 2009, she was named to the Harrow Sports/NFHCA High School All-American West Region team. As a senior, she helped lead her team to the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) Division I championship and was named SPC Division I first team. The Stansbury Athletic Awa rd winner. She earned 12 varsity letters in her high school career in field hockey, track and golf. She participated in the 2008 National Futures Championship.

Michelle Amon
Louisville, Ky. (Assumption HS)
Michelle Amon joins the Cardinals as midfielder/back from Assumption High School in Louisville, Ky., where she helped lead her team to the
2009 State championship and was a Kentucky Miss Field Hockey nominee in 2009. She participated in the National Futures Tournament in 2008 and was named to the 2008 Christian Academy of Louisville Cup All-Tournament team.

Jacque Gerrick
Orefield, PA (Parkland HS)
Jacque Gerrick, a forward/midfielder, joins the Cardinals from Orefield, Pa., where she led Parkland High School  in goals and assists in 2007 and 2009. The 2009 First Team All-State selection also earned and Leigh Valley Pennsylvania first team All-Star honors as a senior.
She was named to the Morning Call first team in 2009 and won gold with the NHFU U16 team. She was a six-time participant in the Pennsylvania Keystone Games and won five medals.

Erin Schneidtmiller
Louisville, Ky. (Mercy Academy)
Erin Schneidtmiller joins the Cardinals from Louisville, Ky.’s Mercy Academy. The 2009 Kentucky Miss Field Hockey nominee was a 2008-09 Kentucky Select first team member and 2nd District All-Tournament team selection. As a junior, she led her team in goals with 26 and assists with 19 and was a 2008 National Futures tournament participant.
