(WHAS11)-- Louisville's Butler Traditional High school girls basketball team is on a roll.
After winning the girls Louisville Invitational Tournament over the weekend by beating then No. 8 Sacred Heart for the title, they now take over the No. 1 spot in the latest state AP rankings.
The Butler Bearettes last won the LIT back in 2008 when they went on to win the state tournament with Miss Basketball Tia Gibbs.
The Bearettes received 14 of 17 first place votes, with No. 2 Elizabethtown (17-4) getting two and No. 3 Anderson Co. ( 15-4) got the final first place vote.
Sacred Heart moved up four spots to No. 4, with Louisville's Ballard taking the fifth spot. All "A" champ Glasgow is No. 10 in the polls.
