BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WHAS11) -- According to a press release by IU, junior quarterback Tre Roberson will not return to the Hoosier football team and is, in fact, transferring.
“We appreciate and thank Tre for his contributions to our football program both on and off the field,” Wilson said. “He is an outstanding player and a great young man. We wish him well
as he moves forward with his career.”
Roberson thanked everyone on staff, on the team and those who support IU. “My time in Bloomington will always hold a special place in my heart," he said. "I wish everyone at IU all the best as I move on to the next chapter in my life.”
IU said Roberson was the first Indiana true freshman to start at quarterback when he started five games in 2011.
In 2012, Roberson suffered a broken leg in the second game of the season and returned last season.
