LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It's the hottest ticket in town, getting prime seats to the Sugar Bowl  to cheer on the Louisville Cardinals. There are a number of packages available, some going quicker than others and some getting very pricey.

It's a little less than a month away and students were already lined up Monday to put their name on a wait list.

"I really hope something works out, I really want to go down there and see them play Florida. I think the SEC with Florida is gonna have a ton of support so I think we need to get plenty of people from UofL down there too," Zach Clinton a UofL student said.

Zach Fischer and Dennis Groom have a plan in place. They plan to drive down and stay with family. All they need are tickets. The cheapest price is $135 if they get one.

"You pay a deposit and based on your priority points they decide if you get tickets," Dennis Groom said.

The University is getting an allotment of 17,500 tickets.

"There is unquestionably great excitement from our fans and have been all season really. This is the culmination of it all. You got a chance to go to a BCS bowl. We have that opportunity to do that now," Sports Information Director Kenny Klein said.

GoCards.com is the official site for the U of L season ticket holder and student packages. They start at $555 and go up to close to $2,000 and that's just for one package.

It offers airline tickets, a stay at the team hotel, transportation, tickets to the game,  among other things. Anthony Travel is handling those packages and a representative says the first charter plane is sold out and they are quickly booking another. The team hotel is also nearly sold out but there are other options. ALTOURS Travel out of Jeffersonville has packages from $1700. And Travelocity prices run $561-$1200.

Stub Hub is offering tickets to the game and they are going from $99 up to $600 per ticket.
