The Prairie Village Babe Ruth League Softball All-Stars were crowned the 2012 Western Kentucky State Champions in the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U age divisions. They earned the right to compete in the Babe Ruth League - Ohio Valley Regional Championship, which was held in Shelbyville, Ind. this past weekend.

It truly is their time to shine as they came home to Louisville as the 2012 Ohio Valley Regional Champions in the 8U, 10U, and 14U divisions and Runners-up in the 12U division.

These girls, and coaches, had an awesome, nearly undefeated season. They brought Prairie Village and Louisville in to the softball limelight of the seven state Ohio Valley region consisting of teams from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

The 12U team is hosting a car wash fundraiser July 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prairie Village Ball Park behind Stonestreet Elementary School. The cost is free, but any donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of traveling to Alachua, Fla. to compete in the 2012 Babe Ruth Softball World Series. The tournament is being held August 4 – 8. They will be representing Prairie Village, Louisville and the Ohio Valley Region.
