NEW YORK (WHAS11)-- Former Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater waited until the last pick of the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft to find out where he would be playing professional football.

The last pick was supposed to go to the reigning NFL champions the Seattle Seahawks, but they traded the pick to the Minnesota Vikings, who ultimately selected Bridgewater for man their team.

Cards Safety Calvin Pryor was selected by the New York Jets with the 18th overall pick in the draft.

The second Cardinal taken in the draft was Marcus Smith, drafted with the 26th overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The draft began at 8 p.m. with the Houston Texans selecting South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney.

At one point after the football season, Bridgewater was thought to be a high first-round pick, possibly even the No. 1 overall selection.

His draft stock started slip after his Pro Day at UofL.

He has appeared on ESPN and the Good Morning America, where he went through with a promise to get his mother a pink Cadillac.
