LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS) -- Although Teddy Bridgewater will not be the starting quarterback in the first regular season game, he may start tonight's final preseason game for the Minnesota Vikings.
It is not uncommon for the regular starting QB to sit out the final preseason game, usually to avoid unnecessary injury risk. It is highly likely that even if Bridgewater doesn't start the game, he could see a lot of action.
Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer, has stated that the former UofL quarterback didn't do anything wrong throughout training camp or the preseason games to be pegged as the backup. Simply, veteran Matt Cassel hasn't done anything to lose the starting job.
Both coach Zimmer and Bridgewater are happy that Teddy is in Minnesota and plan for him to be a great Viking quarterback in the years to come.
The final preseason game will be live at 8p.m. eastern time, and will feature the Tennessee Titans and the Vikings. That game can be seen on WHAS11.
