University of Louisville head coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Arren
Carter will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2010.

“Arren Carter has a quiet, thinker type of personality like Austen
Childs but like Austen will open up quickly when he is around all of his
talkative teammates,” said Ecarma. “We also appreciate the fact that
Arren committed to us right away which shows his passion for our program
and eagerness to reach his true potential."

Carter, a Powell, Ohio, native, is the No. 2 player in Ohio. In the 18
and Under age group, he reached the finals of the 2009 Midwest Closed
Doubles and the consolation quarterfinals in the Midwest Closed Singles.
He posted a third place finish in the 2009 St. Louis Championship
Doubles reached the consolation quarterfinals in singles. He was also a
consolation semifinalist in the 2009 Midwest Indoor singles, and the
2009 Midwest Designated and reached the consolation quarterfinals of the
national open.

While playing in the 16 and Under age group, Carter was selected to the
2008 Midwest Intersectional Team. He was the Midwest Closed Doubles
Champion and reached the consolation semifinals in singles. He was a
finalist in the National Open doubles, where he also earned a fourth
place singles finish.  Carter also reached the consolation singles
quarterfinals of the 2008 National Open Midwest Fall Closed and Midwest
Open tournament. Additionally, Carter reached the consolation third
round of the 2008 Clay Court Supernationals.

"Arren really caught my eye at the Clay Court Super Nationals,” said
Ecarma. “He played very intelligent doubles in a sense that he knew
the right shot to hit at the right time. We commit so much of our
practice time teaching singles specialists the art and science of
doubles.  I think Arren will start out ahead of the curve in this
respect.  As far as singles, he made it to the consolation semifinals of
the Midwest Indoor and consolation quarterfinals of the Midwest Outdoor.
He is showing genuine potential is this area.”
