LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – John Calipari announced Tuesday night that Alex Poythress has decided to return for his sophomore season.
Calipari says he was really happy about the decision after talking to Poythress’ parents and looking over his options.
Calipari tweeted, “Alex is a great kid with a lot of potential and I’m excited to be able to work with him next year.”
Calipari also tweeted that another season at UK for Poythress would help him reach his dreams.
Poythress, who started 30 games, was Kentucky's second-leading scorer (11.4 points per game) and rebounder (6.2) respectively last season.
