(WHAS11) – One of the hosts of ABC’s Good Morning America received a big honor over the weekend.

Former football star and Super Bowl champion Michael Strahan was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

A self-proclaimed husky kid, Strahan says he used Jane Fonda videos to get in shape.

He went on to become one of the best defensive players of his generation.

During his acceptance speech, Strahan thanked the coaches and players who inspired him as well as his mother for her unconditional love. He also thanked his father for his drive.

“He’s the most amazing, amazing man and more so than any of that, one hell of a father,” he said.

Strahan says he’s proud of everything he’s accomplished on and off the field but his most important title is “dad.”

Kelly Ripa, who co-hosts Live with Kelly and Michael, was in attendance as well as fellow Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts.
