LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The first round is on the coach.

Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz is buying beer for 2,500 fans 21 or older with proper ID. Vouchers will be distributed at a table inside the arena Thursday.

Walz told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/1hE1sn6 ) it's his way of saying thanks to No. 5 Louisville's loyal fans and invite others to come see the team.

Louisville plays No. 14 LSU in the Preseason WNIT semifinals at 7 p.m. EST Thursday at the Yum Center.

Louisville assistant athletic director for marketing Amy Morgan says tickets are being discounted from $10 to $6 for the game.

Last week, Kansas State gave about 300 pounds of free bacon to students attending its women's season opener.
